Sony PlayStation State of Play Reportedly Set for Next Week

Sony is reportedly gearing up for its next PlayStation State of Play broadcast, slated for next week, likely sometime during Valentine's Day week (February 10th-14th), according to leaker NateTheHate, who accurately predicted the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal date. Speculation is rife about what Sony might unveil. Considering first-party titles slated for 2025, several strong contenders emerge. Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei, currently with a 2025 release window, could receive a gameplay showcase and official release date. Bungie's Marathon, a PvP extraction shooter, might also make an appearance if playtesting plans remain on track for this year. Haven Studios' debut title, Fairgames, is another possibility. While less likely, new trailers for Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (also slated for 2025), Naughty Dog's new IP Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine are all within the realm of possibility.

However, several recently canceled live-service games—two unannounced titles from Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games (one reportedly a live-service God of War title)—are off the table. The fate of Guerrilla Games' live-service Horizon project remains uncertain, but a reveal is possible.

Shifting to third-party titles, Kojima Productions' Physint (a stealth-action PlayStation exclusive) might be too early for a major reveal, while Phantom Blade Zero, a hack-and-slash action RPG from S-Game, seems a more likely candidate.

Finally, considering Microsoft's growing presence on PlayStation, a release date announcement for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is plausible. The possibility of a surprise Halo announcement for PlayStation, however, remains intriguing speculation. Last year's State of Play featured Death Stranding 2, Physint, Rise of the Ronin, the Until Dawn remaster, Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2, Sonic x Shadow Generations, various Silent Hill projects, Ken Levine's Judas, Foamstars, and Helldivers 2, providing a useful frame of reference for this year's potential announcements.
