Sonic the Hedgehog is revving up for its 35th anniversary in 2026, and Sega is already rolling out exciting plans to celebrate this milestone. A recent Amazon listing has unveiled a special 35th Anniversary 2026 Wall Calendar, now available for pre-order. This calendar isn't just a timekeeper; it's a collector's item featuring never-before-seen Sonic artwork and a brand-new 35th anniversary logo. The cover photo hints at a journey through Sonic's history, showcasing game art from 1991's Sonic the Hedgehog to 2022's Sonic Frontiers. The description promises a thrilling 12-month retrospective that's perfect for fans both new and old. "Race into adventure and celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary with this 12-month retrospective calendar. Featuring original game art from Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) to Sonic Frontiers (2022), this calendar is perfect for Sonic fans new and old. Gotta go fast!"
Adding to the excitement, the calendar comes with 4 die-cut notecards featuring popular characters like Sonic, Amy, Knuckles, and Tails. These notecards transform into 3D self-standing figures, making them a delightful addition for any Sonic enthusiast. The Sonic 35th Anniversary Wall Calendar is now available for pre-order on Amazon and will start shipping on August 19, 2025.
In another exciting development, Sega is preparing for the release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in 2025. This comes at a time when Nintendo has announced Mario Kart World, set to launch alongside the Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. Sega playfully took to X (formerly Twitter) on April 3 to comment on this, starting with "Big day for worldly racing games!" in a nod to Mario Kart World. However, they quickly added that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be the "ONLY upcoming kart racer you can play with your friends," showcasing the friendly rivalry between Sega and Nintendo.
2025 is shaping up to be a thrilling year for kart racing fans, with both Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and Mario Kart World set to hit the market. While CrossWorlds will be available on multiple platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, Mario Kart World is poised to leverage the new features of the Switch 2. Both titles promise high-quality gameplay and enjoyment, ensuring that fans are the ultimate winners in this friendly competition. Although a specific release date for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds hasn't been announced, stay tuned to our updates for the latest information.
