Announced a year ago, Smite 2 promises to elevate the gaming experience from its predecessor with stunning visuals and refined combat mechanics, all powered by Unreal Engine 5. A key feature of Smite 2 is its revamped item shop, which allows players more flexibility in choosing items regardless of their chosen god's classification. As in the original Smite, players assume the roles of gods from diverse mythologies, engaging in epic 5v5 battles on sprawling maps.

Starting January 14, players can download Smite 2's open beta for free across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. The latest patch introduces Aladdin, a new god designed specifically for Smite 2. Aladdin's unique abilities include running along walls and a revival mechanism thanks to his companion's three wishes. His ultimate ability enables him to trap enemies in his lamp for a thrilling 1v1 showdown.

The open beta also reintroduces the fan-favorite Joust mode, where players clash on a more compact 3v3 map. Additionally, the Conquest map and the Assault game mode are available for players to explore during the open beta phase.
