Sony and HBO have officially renewed The Last of Us for Season 3. While no release date has been announced yet, production is expected to begin this summer. It’s worth noting that this does not indicate a third entry in the game series—Naughty Dog remains focused on its upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Both The Last of Us games have received remastered editions, with Part 2 recently launching on PC. A new “Complete Edition” combining both titles has also been announced, with a physical release planned for this summer. In celebration of the franchise, Sony even released a special edition DualSense controller inspired by the series.

The Last of Us Season 2 Cast and Crew

For Season 2, the creative team includes The Last of Us game co-creator Neil Druckmann and award-winning writer Craig Mazin (Chernobyl). They are joined by Haley Gross, who co-wrote The Last of Us Part 2.
