If you've been eagerly waiting to snag one of the more budget-friendly Blackwell cards at a reputable retailer, your wait is over. Amazon is currently offering the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Windforce OC 12GB Graphics Card exclusively for Amazon Prime members at the list price of $609.99, with the added perk of free shipping. This GPU is a powerhouse for gaming at up to 1440p resolution, delivering high framerates and supporting the cutting-edge DLSS 4 technology.
It's worth noting that the suggested launch price for a GeForce RTX 5070 card is $549.99. While there are models available at this price point, they are notoriously difficult to find in stock. The Windforce OC model is priced higher due to its overclocked (OC) configuration. Despite this, it remains the most affordable option for a standalone RTX 5070 GPU on the market right now.
$609.99 at Amazon
When compared to the previous generation GPUs, the RTX 5070 offers performance on par with the RTX 4070 Super. While we would have hoped for a more significant leap in raw performance, the RTX 4070 Super was already a standout choice for 1080p and 1440p gaming, launching at $599.99—just $10 less than this Gigabyte 5070 model. However, finding an RTX 4070 Super at this price point has become nearly impossible. The RTX 5070, on the other hand, not only looks better but also performs superiorly in games that leverage DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation technologies. It's a more future-proof option that will continue to improve with driver optimizations.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Review by Jacqueline Thomas
"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 is a bit of a mixed bag. It delivers on its promise to run games at 1440p with high frame rates, but it doesn't outperform the RTX 4070 Super or other cards in its price range. However, it does introduce Multi Frame Generation, a feature that's particularly beneficial for those with high-refresh monitors. While this alone may not justify an upgrade, it's a valuable addition for certain users."
