Riot Games still wants its MMO, but it is not even close to the finish

Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill recently spoke at the DICE Summit, revealing his ambitious vision for the future: a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game set within the rich worlds of League of Legends and Arcane. Merrill confessed that this MMO project consumes a significant portion of his time, fueled by his personal passion for the genre and a deep understanding of the fervent desire among League of Legends fans for deeper immersion in their beloved universe.

While details remain scarce, including a release date, Merrill playfully suggested a launch before humanity's first Martian landing. This ambitious timeframe remains uncertain.

It's important to note that another League of Legends-universe game is also in development: 2XKO, a fighting game eagerly anticipated by fans for years. Unlike the MMO, 2XKO has already unveiled trailers and a projected release window—before the year's end.
