The ESRB website has recently updated the age rating for Resident Evil 6, confirming its Mature 17+ rating but with an exciting twist: the game is now listed for the Xbox Series. This development suggests that fans of the iconic survival horror series can look forward to experiencing the game on the latest Xbox console.

Originally released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Resident Evil 6 saw a remastered version in spring 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The new listing on ESRB hints at a potential re-release tailored for current-generation consoles, including the Xbox Series and possibly the PlayStation 5, though no official confirmation has been made yet.
The anticipation surrounding this re-release centers on what enhancements the native version for current-generation consoles will offer over the previous remaster. A notable change in the game's description has caught the attention of fans: while earlier versions were categorized as a "third-person shooter," the new listing now labels it as a "survival horror" game. This shift in genre classification could indicate a return to the series' roots, promising a more intense and immersive experience. More details are expected to be unveiled in an upcoming full presentation.
In addition to the excitement about Resident Evil 6's re-release, the gaming community is buzzing with anticipation for the announcement of the ninth installment in the series. Rumors suggest that this new chapter will be set four years after the events of Resident Evil: Village, continuing the saga that has captivated players for decades.
