"Pokémon TCG: 151 Booster Bundle Available on Amazon - Still In Stock"

If you're a Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) collector, you might have noticed the return of the Pokémon 151 Booster Bundle on Amazon—and yes, it’s a mix of excitement and concern. The bundle, which typically retails for $26.94, is now listed at over $60. While it’s technically still a “deal” compared to other premium sets, the price hike is enough to raise some eyebrows. That said, given its history of selling out almost instantly, it’s hard not to consider jumping on the opportunity.

Full Disclosure:

  • MSRP: $26.94
  • List Price: $82.50 (save 16%)
  • Amazon Price: $68.92

What draws me back to this set time and again is its ability to transcend mere nostalgia. The artwork is nothing short of stunning, breaking away from the predictable "shiny thing on a blank background" formula. Take the Illustration Rare Bulbasaur, for instance—it's nestled in a lush jungle, as though it wandered straight out of a Studio Ghibli film. It works beautifully. Alakazam ex, on the other hand, looks like it's deep into research for a psychic PhD in a cluttered study. It’s quirky yet oddly endearing.

Charmeleon - 169/165

  • Price: $30.99 at TCG Player

Bulbasaur - 166/165

  • Price: $37.99 at TCG Player

Alakazam ex - 201/165

  • Price: $53.99 at TCG Player

Squirtle - 170/165

  • Price: $40.99 at TCG Player

Charizard ex - 183/165

  • Price: $35.40 at TCG Player

One of the standout features of this set is how seamlessly it blends art and gameplay. Cards like Blastoise ex boast solid abilities while looking like they belong in a museum. Even Charmander received a thoughtful update with 70 HP, allowing it to survive chip damage that would've wiped out older versions. Subtle but impactful—that's the vibe throughout this set.

Charmander - 168/165

  • Price: $45.05 at TCG Player

Zapdos ex - 202/165

  • Price: $60.68 at TCG Player

Blastoise ex - 200/165

  • Price: $60.00 at TCG Player

Venusaur ex - 198/165

  • Price: $77.73 at TCG Player

Charizard ex - 199/165

  • Price: $234.99 at TCG Player

Not every card knocks it out of the park, though. Zapdos ex is decent but not something I'd frame or build a deck around. However, the overall quality remains high. Venusaur ex strikes a great balance between functionality and aesthetics, while Squirtle’s artwork manages to make a cartoonish turtle look surprisingly natural. There’s clearly a lot of thought put into each design.

I’m not thrilled about paying above MSRP, but I can’t ignore how strong this set is. If you’ve been waiting for a collection that’s enjoyable to open and offers a real shot at high-value pulls, this is still one of the better options. Just be prepared to pay Amazon’s current asking price.
