The Pokémon TCG Pocket has stirred a mixed bag of reactions among fans. While the trading feature has been a point of contention, the digital adaptation of the popular trading card game has largely been well-received. However, for those eager to show their enthusiasm through official merchandise, there's a catch: the exclusive lineup is currently only available in Japan.
Over the weekend, the Pokémon Center in Japan launched an array of merchandise specifically for Pokémon TCG Pocket. From paper theatre pieces that mimic 3D dioramas of cards to smartphone shoulder straps, keychains, and a Sacoche featuring the immersive Pikachu EX card art on its interior lining, these items are tempting desk fillers. Unfortunately, a quick look at the international Pokémon Center site shows these items are not yet available outside of Japan, though there's hope they might soon go global.
It's not uncommon for Japan to enjoy a larger slice of the fan merchandise pie, with limited-time pop-up shops, themed cafes, and other unique events often exclusive to the country. Given the growing popularity of Pokémon TCG Pocket, there's a good chance these items could eventually make their way to international markets, offering new and exciting gift options for Pokémon enthusiasts worldwide.
