The Pokémon Company, in partnership with the esteemed Japanese comic publisher Shogakukan, is gearing up to release "Pokécology: An Official Encyclopedia for Pokémon Behaviors and Ecology." Shogakukan made the exciting announcement on April 21, confirming that the book will hit the shelves in Japan on June 18, 2025.
Pre-orders are now open at bookstores across Japan, with the encyclopedia priced at 1,430 yen (tax included). While there's no official word yet on a global release, given the worldwide popularity of Pokémon, fans can anticipate an English version to be announced soon.
"Pokécology" will offer an in-depth look at the ecology of Pokémon, exploring these creatures through a scientific lens. The book will cover essential aspects such as Pokémon's diet, sleep patterns, physical characteristics, and their interactions with other Pokémon and their environment.
This groundbreaking work is authored by leading experts from the University of Tokyo, including ecologist Yoshinari Yonehara, who spearheaded the research on wild Pokémon analysis.
