Max has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, intensifying the connections to the Superman universe by showcasing Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner right from the opening scene. The trailer starts with Sean Gunn portraying Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, conducting a dismissive interview with John Cena's character, Peacemaker, for a potential superhero team. The interview quickly sours, leaving Peacemaker visibly dejected as he exits the building.
This trailer offers fresh glimpses of these supporting characters, who are also slated to appear in James Gunn's upcoming Superman movie.

Peacemaker Season 2 is set to premiere on August 21, following the release of Superman on July 11, marking it as the third entry in the new DCU, which was officially launched with the Creature Commandos TV series last year.
Under the direction of James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran, the revamped DCU diverges from the critically criticized DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, certain elements will carry over into the new universe. Peacemaker is a prime example, transitioning from the DCEU with its first season to the DCU with its second.
Gunn has mentioned that "many strands will remain consistent as far as Peacemaker's story goes," although it's still uncertain what specific elements will transition from the DCEU to the DCU. He has confirmed that all members of Team Peacemaker will return, with John Cena reprising his lead role, joined by Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.Additionally, Gunn has stated that the series will be set after the events of Creature Commandos and Superman, with the events of the latter directly impacting Peacemaker.
