One such encounter, the Sisters of Garukhan, appears twice during the campaign and grants a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance. Here's a detailed guide on how to locate and activate this crucial encounter.

Where To Find Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter is located within the Spires of Deshar Map in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel of the campaign. This encounter provides players with a +10% Lightning Resistance buff each time it's activated. The icon for this encounter can be easily overlooked on the world map, making it a hidden gem for many players.

Due to the randomly generated nature of maps in Path of Exile 2, there's no fixed route to reach the Sisters of Garukhan. However, they are always present within the Spires of Dushar. You'll need to thoroughly explore the map to find a shrine similar to the one shown above. Once you interact with this shrine, you'll receive the +10% Lightning Resistance buff. Be ready for a fight, though, as activating the shrine will awaken the chakram-wielding metal automatons that were previously dormant. This action triggers all the automatons in the map to come to life and attack.

If you've reached a checkpoint near the exit before interacting with the shrine, you can use it to fast-travel back and avoid navigating the entire map filled with ambushers again.

How to Get +10% Lightning Resistance From Sisters of Garukhan

The +10% Lightning Resistance is granted instantly upon interacting with the Sisters of Garukhan statues. It's not an item you need to pick up, nor is it a reward for defeating the automatons that ambush you after activating the shrine. The buff is automatically applied as soon as you touch the shrine.

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter repeats in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel of the campaign during Path of Exile 2's early access. Ensure you activate the shrine twice to receive the buff twice, resulting in a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Why is +10% Lightning Resistance Not Activating

A common confusion among players is that even after activating the Sisters of Garukhan and receiving the +10% Lightning Resistance notification in chat, their resistance stats may still appear negative. This is due to a mechanic in Path of Exile 2 where completing each Act imposes a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances (except Chaos Resistance).

When you first complete the Sisters of Garukhan in Act 2, the +10% Lightning Resistance buff cancels out the -10% debuff from completing Act 1, resulting in a net zero for Lightning Resistance. In Act 2 Cruel, you start with a -40% Lightning Resistance, which improves to -30% after activating the Sisters of Garukhan again.

To verify if the elemental resistance buffs from the campaign are active, remove all your gear and check your resistances in the endgame. If you see -40% across all resistances, you haven't missed any buffs.
