Nintendo has announced an exciting Nintendo Direct focused on the Nintendo Switch, scheduled for 7am PT on March 27. This 30-minute presentation will showcase a variety of upcoming games for the beloved console. Importantly, Nintendo has confirmed that there will be no updates regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 during this event. Instead, those eager for Switch 2 news should mark their calendars for April 2 at 6am PT, when Nintendo will hold a dedicated Switch 2 Direct.

So, what can fans expect from this Nintendo Direct? Despite the anticipation surrounding the Switch 2, Nintendo continues to have a robust lineup of games for the original Switch, which has impressively sold over 150.86 million units. This massive audience remains a significant focus for Nintendo, game publishers, and developers alike.
Among the anticipated titles for the Switch in 2025, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam are set to captivate fans. Additionally, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is slated for release later this year. The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong, announced six years ago, is confirmed for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch. With the Switch 2 being backwards compatible, these titles are expected to be playable on both the original Switch and its successor.
