Nintendo has exciting news for gamers: the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 preorders will kick off on April 9 in the United States and April 8 in the UK. The new console, fully unveiled today, will hit the shelves on June 5, 2025, with a price tag of $449.99. For fans looking for an even better deal, there's a Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle priced at $499.99, available from launch day. This bundle includes the system and a download code for the Mario Kart World game. If you prefer to buy Mario Kart World separately, be prepared to spend $79.99.

You can also register your interest with Nintendo to be notified about preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories through the My Nintendo Store. Invitations to purchase will be sent via email on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to users who have a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership and at least 50 gameplay hours logged by April 2, 2025. After priority users, remaining eligible registrants will be considered. Remember, invitations are non-transferable and valid for 72 hours. You're limited to purchasing one system and one of each accessory per account. Major retailers are also expected to open preorders on April 9, 2025.
