The excitement surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 has taken an interesting turn, with fans now focusing on the size of its physical game cases. This shift in conversation was sparked by a potential leak from a French retailer, Fnac, which listed dimensions for a Take-Two Interactive game intended for the Nintendo Switch 2. According to the listing, the new game boxes will be slightly larger than those of the original Nintendo Switch.
This speculation was visually explored in a Reddit post by user HertzBurst, who created a mock-up comparing the dimensions of the current Switch game case with the supposed new one. The leaked dimensions suggest that the Nintendo Switch 2 game cases will measure approximately 5.1 inches by 7.7 inches (13 cm by 19.5 cm). While these new cases will be larger than the compact cases Nintendo Switch users are accustomed to, they will still be significantly smaller than the standard cases used by Xbox Series X and S, as well as PlayStation 5 games.

Although these details are yet to be officially confirmed by Nintendo, it's logical for retailers to have early access to product dimensions to prepare their stock displays. The anticipation for the Nintendo Switch 2 continues to build, with many speculating that its release could happen between June and September. This speculation is fueled by upcoming hands-on events scheduled until June and statements from Nacon, the publisher behind Greedfall 2, suggesting the console will launch before September.
The Nintendo Switch 2 was first teased in January with a brief trailer that confirmed backward compatibility and the inclusion of an additional USB-C port. However, many details, such as the full lineup of games and the functionality of the mysterious new button on the Joy-Con, remain undisclosed. The Joy-Con mouse theory has been one of the intriguing speculations gaining some traction among fans.
