After years of speculation, Nintendo has finally unveiled the details of the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, and the specs are more impressive than many expected. One of the standout features is the ability to support gameplay at 120fps and up to 4K resolution when the system is docked, promising a significantly enhanced gaming experience.

PlayDuring today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo provided an in-depth look at the new system. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to its predecessor, yet maintains the same thickness of 13.9mm. With approximately double the pixels of the original, it supports a crisp 1080p resolution at up to 120fps in handheld mode. The screen is an LCD type and supports HDR for vibrant visuals. When docked, the system can upscale to 4K resolution with HDR, ensuring a stunning display on larger screens.

The new Joy-Con 2 controllers feature a magnetic connection system and can be detached using a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, enhancing playability in horizontal mode, and the analog sticks have been upsized for improved comfort and precision. Additionally, the Joy-Con 2 introduces official support for mouse control, opening up new gameplay possibilities.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone equipped with noise-canceling technology, alongside 3D audio support for compatible games, enhancing the immersive experience. The system also comes with a more robust and adjustable stand, allowing for greater flexibility in tabletop mode. A top USB port offers additional functionality, such as external camera connectivity and charging capabilities while in use.

In terms of storage, the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for games and applications.
