Indie studio We Are Muesli has exciting news for narrative game enthusiasts with their latest project, In Their Shoes, set to launch in 2026 on both mobile and PC platforms. This game, which has already garnered attention by earning a nomination for the 'A MAZE. 2025' awards in Berlin, promises a unique storytelling experience.
In Their Shoes Is a Narrative Game that’s More About Listening
Set in the vibrant yet contradictory city of Milan, In Their Shoes offers players the chance to step into the lives of seven distinct characters. Through 49 short interactive stories, known as Moments, players will delve into the daily experiences of these characters. Each Moment captures the essence of their hesitations, routines, and the split-second decisions they face. Some stories unfold at a leisurely pace, allowing you to immerse yourself in the character's thoughts, while others demand quick reactions, simulating real-life urgency.
The narrative structure of In Their Shoes deviates from traditional storytelling, offering a more fragmented and realistic portrayal of life. As players navigate through these stories, they'll discover 26 hidden biographical details about each character, painting a comprehensive picture of their lives. This slice-of-life approach ensures an authentic and engaging experience.
While the Play Store page is still under wraps, you can get a sneak peek at the game through its Steam page. Dive deeper into what In Their Shoes has to offer by watching the announcement trailer below.
