The phenomenal success of *Monster Hunter Wilds* continues to soar, as it has now surpassed the impressive milestone of 10 million units sold, setting a new first-month sales record for Capcom. This achievement marks the highest initial sales in the company's history, eclipsing the previous record set by *Monster Hunter World*, which sold 8 million copies within just three days of its release.
In a press release, Capcom attributed the game's remarkable success to several innovative features. The introduction of crossplay, a first for the series, combined with a simultaneous launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, has significantly broadened the game's appeal. Capcom noted, "The title provides an environment where a wider range of players can enjoy the game together with the introduction of crossplay, a first for the series, and a simultaneous release on PlayStation 5 system, Xbox Series X|S, and PC."
Furthermore, Capcom highlighted the addition of the new Focus Mode mechanic and the seamless transition between settlements and ecosystems, which have enhanced the immersive gaming experience. "Additionally, the introduction of the new Focus Mode mechanic and the implementation of seamless movement between settlements and ecosystems have provided an even more immersive gaming experience, while the fusion of numerous new elements with Monster Hunter’s appeal has generated significant excitement, all of which led to the company's first-month sales record of over 10 million units sold."
Looking ahead, *Monster Hunter Wilds* is set to continue its momentum with upcoming updates. Title Update 1, launching on April 4, will introduce a fan-favorite monster and the Grand Hub, a new in-game settlement for players to gather and interact. Title Update 2, scheduled for the summer, will feature the much-anticipated return of Lagiacrus. The *Monster Hunter* series made a significant impact in the West with the 2018 release of *Monster Hunter World*, which remains Capcom's best-selling game with 21.3 million units sold. Given the current trajectory, it's highly probable that *Monster Hunter Wilds* will eventually surpass this figure.
