Renowned insider and editor of Windows Central, Jez Corden, has officially confirmed that Microsoft is actively working on the Gears of War Collection. Recent speculation about this compilation suggested it might exclude the franchise's iconic multiplayer mode, and Corden has verified these claims, stating that competitive online play will not be included. However, fans can still look forward to cooperative gameplay alongside the main story campaigns.

Rumors are swirling that the much-anticipated announcement for the Gears of War Collection could be made at the upcoming Xbox Showcase event in June. While specifics on which titles will be part of the collection are still under wraps, insiders believe it may feature the first three entries in the series.
In other news, development on the next major installment, Gears of War: E-Day, is progressing using Unreal Engine 5 for PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Recent leaks hinted at a possible release later this year, but Corden suggests a more likely launch window in 2026.
