Konami fuels speculation about a potential Metal Gear Solid 4 remake and next-gen ports, hinting at its inclusion in the anticipated Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Could Arrive on PS5 and Xbox

Konami producer Noriaki Okamura recently teased the possibility of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots being remade and included in MGS Master Collection Vol. 2, bringing the PS3 exclusive to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and potentially other platforms. While remaining coy about specifics, Okamura acknowledged the significant fan interest in seeing MGS4 on modern consoles. He stated to IGN, "We definitely are aware of this situation with MGS4. Unfortunately, we can't really say too much at the moment with Vol. 1 containing MGS 1-3... you can probably connect the dots! Right now, we still are internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series. So sorry, we can't really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!"

The speculation stems from the success of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which brought remastered versions of the first three games to modern platforms, including PC and Switch. The inclusion of placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on Konami's official timeline further fueled rumors, suggesting these titles might be part of Master Collection Vol. 2. IGN also reported on these placeholder buttons, lending further credence to the speculation. However, Konami has yet to officially confirm these plans.
Adding to the excitement, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in a project seemingly related to MGS4 on social media last November.
While Konami remains tight-lipped, the collective evidence points towards a strong possibility of Metal Gear Solid 4 receiving a remake and finally becoming available on platforms beyond the PS3. The wait continues, but the anticipation is palpable.
