Quick Links
Moonstone, Marvel Snap's newest Ongoing card, copies the effects of your other 1-, 2-, and 3-cost Ongoing cards in her lane. Think of her as a supercharged Mystique. Building a strong deck around this potent but fragile card—often called "the Glass Cannon"—presents a unique challenge.
After extensive testing, the two most effective Moonstone decks utilize Patriot and Tribunal strategies. This guide details building and optimizing both. A brief review at the end helps you decide if Moonstone deserves a spot in your collection.

The Best Deck for Moonstone
Moonstone excels in supporting roles, not as the sole win condition. A reliable strategy pairs her with a Patriot-Ultron deck. Focus on copying one or two key Ongoing effects, rather than over-relying on her ability.
This Moonstone deck includes: Brood, Mystique, Dazzler, Mockingbird, Ant-Man, Iron Man, Squirrel Girl, Blue Marvel, Mister Sinister, Patriot, and Ultron.

Moonstone Deck Synergies
- Set up buffs with Brood, Sinister, or Squirrel Girl.
- Use one lane for Patriot, Mystique, and Moonstone (ideally in that order).
- Play Ultron in the final round to maximize buffed locations.
- Iron Man, Blue Marvel, and Mockingbird provide backup power.
An Alternative Deck for Moonstone
For a more exciting, though less consistent, approach, pair Moonstone with Onslaught and The Living Tribunal. This deck uses Moonstone as a primary win condition. Include: Onslaught, Living Tribunal, Mystique, Magik, Psylocke, Sera, Iron Man, Ravonna Renslayer, Captain America, Howard the Duck, and Iron Lad.

Ideal Play:
- Use Psylocke to play Moonstone early.
- Play Onslaught, Mystique, and Iron Man in her lane.
- Use The Living Tribunal in the final round to distribute power across lanes.
Psylocke and Sera provide cost reduction, Magik extends the game, allowing for Onslaught and The Living Tribunal plays. Captain America and Iron Lad offer backup power. While many predicted a Moonstone-Onslaught-Tribunal meta, Super Skrull proves a significant counter.
How to Counter Moonstone
Super Skrull effectively counters Moonstone. Enchantress, Rogue, and Echo also neutralize her. Moonstone's vulnerability stems from her absorbing abilities only in her lane. Without protection (like Invisible Woman), opponents can easily shut down her lane with Enchantress, Echo, or Rogue, or use Super Skrull elsewhere to disrupt your strategy.
Is Moonstone Worth It?
Moonstone is a worthwhile Spotlight Key investment for several reasons: 1) Her ability will gain value as more synergistic Ongoing cards are released; 2) She's in a Spotlight Cache with two other Series Five cards, mitigating poor pulls; 3) She offers nostalgic, high-impact combo potential. If you enjoy powerful board-state manipulation, Moonstone is a strong addition.
