While the game doesn't allow for co-op play, it offers an alternative in the form of the Spirit of Advocacy. Let's explore what the Spirit of Advocacy is and how you can upgrade it to enhance your gameplay experience.
You'll quickly learn how tough it is to battle bosses like Yetuga and the Blade Phantom alone. However, relief comes in the third mission at the Forgotten Temples in the Embars Ruins. After you disable the magical device siphoning Netherworld energy, you'll encounter a Revenant of Adversity at the temple's base. This enemy, a hybrid of Khazan and the Blade Phantom, must be defeated to unlock the Spirit of Advocacy summoning feature.
Once unlocked, you can summon the Spirit of Advocacy right before the final boss fight of each mission. Keep an eye out for the golden glowing spot in front of the boss gate. To summon your ally, you'll need to use a Lacrima of Circulation, which you can obtain by defeating Revenants of Adversity found throughout the levels. Make sure to take every opportunity to defeat these enemies to gather enough Lacrima for the crucial final battles.
After completing the Forgotten Temple mission, head back to The Crevice and speak with the NPC Daphrona. She offers the option to upgrade the Spirit of Advocacy using Lacrima of Circulation. Investing these resources will enhance the Spirit's health, damage, and stamina, making it a more effective ally during boss fights. It's wise to farm additional Lacrima of Circulation, as they not only boost your Spirit but also contribute to your overall stats and Vengeance Points bonuses. Don't forget to check with Daphrona about using destroyed Soulstones for additional buffs.
