During the IGN Fan Fest on February 27, 2025, South Korean developer Neople treated fans to a fresh gameplay trailer for The First Berserker: Khazan. This trailer spotlighted Khazan engaging in battles with an intriguing umbrella-wielding boss, alongside two formidable beasts.

The umbrella-wielding adversary seems integral to the main storyline or at least significant, as evidenced by a brief cutscene preceding the fight. Unfortunately, the HUD was obscured during this sequence, leaving us without specific details about this boss. However, the trailer did reveal the identities of the other two opponents: Shactuka, a wolf-like beast, and the Specter of Bhangau, a ram-like creature brandishing a hammer and spike.

Possible Awakened Form

A highlight of the trailer was Khazan's potential transformation into an awakened form, deviating from his usual samurai-like appearance. In this new state, Khazan radiates a red glow and dons full body armor, enabling him to wield a variety of weapons with enhanced attacks.

While The First Berserker: Khazan already offers diverse combat options, this awakened form significantly boosts Khazan's attack power and speed. The trailer demonstrated the game's combat mechanics, including blocking projectiles, parrying, and executing rapid combos. Despite these powerful moves, Khazan's attacks appeared to have minimal impact on the bosses, underscoring the game's challenging, Souls-like nature.

Although the developers have not officially confirmed this awakened form, the trailer suggests it will allow Khazan to unleash devastating damage and craft extensive combos using different weapons.

Fans eager to dive into The First Berserker: Khazan can try out its free demo on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, which includes the first two missions. The full game is slated for release on March 27, 2025, across these platforms.
