Early in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Naoe embarks on a personal quest to track down the masked individuals responsible for her father’s death. One of the first major steps in this journey leads her to the Golden Teppo, and to get there, you’ll need to locate two key figures: Imai Sokyu and the tea merchant. Here’s exactly where to find them.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Imai Sokyu Location

To find Imai Sokyu, you’ll need to head to western Settsu, specifically the southwestern part of Sakai. On your world map, navigate toward the city of Sakai. If you have scouts available, press the Square button to deploy them—they’ll automatically scout the southwestern district and pinpoint Imai Sokyu’s location.

If you haven’t unlocked scouts yet, simply make your way into Sakai and proceed to the Money Changer District. Once there, hold down the L2 button to scan the area. Look for a blue dot in your enhanced vision—it will guide you directly to Imai Sokyu.

Following him will initiate a brief stealth sequence. Stick close without being detected, and you’ll eventually arrive at a teahouse. There, Naoe engages in a conversation that reveals crucial details about her next objective, pushing her deeper into the mystery.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Tea Merchant Location

After speaking with Imai Sokyu, your next task is to locate the tea merchant. Fortunately, they’re not far from the teahouse. Head to the northern section of Sakai, then once again hold L2 to scan your surroundings. The blue detection dot will appear, leading you straight to the merchant.

Interacting with the tea merchant advances the quest and introduces Naoe to the traditional tea ceremony. Mastering this ritual is a key step toward unlocking access to the Golden Teppo and progressing further in the story.
