Exciting updates have emerged regarding the much-anticipated Lion King ride coming to Disneyland Paris. According to Disney Parks Blog, this groundbreaking attraction, set to be part of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, now known as Disney Adventure World, is slated to commence construction in Fall 2025. This will be the first-ever land and ride dedicated to The Lion King, promising to be a major attraction within the park.
The Lion King land will feature a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock, and will immerse guests in the iconic moments of the 1994 classic film through an exhilarating water ride. The new concept image released by Disney showcases Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal amidst a lush jungle environment. This is just one highlight of a ride that also boasts a thrilling 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches.
While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the Lion King ride will follow the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. It will be a key component of Disney Adventure World, which will expand the park's footprint to double its current size.
Alongside the Lion King ride, Disney Adventure World will introduce several other attractions, including the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, where Mandy Moore will reprise her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction themed after Up. The latter will be a "spinning carousel" offering panoramic views of the park's stunning scenery.
The park's new entrance, World Premiere, set to open on May 15, 2025, will offer guests an experience reminiscent of a glamorous Hollywood premiere. Additionally, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will feature theaters showcasing productions like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
