Having your own house at the age of 18 might seem like a dream come true—think independence and your own space, all before you can legally drink in the US! However, in the case of *Your House*, this dream might quickly turn into a nightmare. This seemingly cozy home harbors a dark side that you'll soon discover.
In this text-based adventure, you step into the shoes of Debbie, a young woman who, on her 18th birthday, faces expulsion from school, betrayal by her best friend, and a car accident. With nothing left to lose, Debbie receives a mysterious key and a letter directing her to the titular house. Driven by curiosity and desperation, she sets out to unravel the enigma surrounding this place.
As Debbie, you'll encounter dozens of escape room-style puzzles and a mysterious figure lurking on the sidewalk. You'll need to use all your ingenuity to ensure Debbie's survival. While I might be painting *Your House* as more sinister than it is, there's no denying the spooky undercurrent that runs through this game. With plenty of visuals to complement the text-based narration, it's definitely worth exploring.
Be prepared for some intense tapping, though. While Catherine praised *Your House* in her review, she noted that the gameplay might require a bit of patience. If you're willing to take your time and carefully examine each screen, the slow-burn pace can be rewarding.
