The footage, appearing on the Ron South YouTube channel, an avid filmmaker's account with 1,890 subscribers, also includes auditions from Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr. While all auditions are interesting, Cavill's has garnered significant attention, with many, including Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, believing he would have been an excellent 007. Campbell reportedly considered Cavill's audition "tremendous," though ultimately, other producers favored Daniel Craig. Cavill later fulfilled his spy aspirations in Argylle, a film starring a stellar cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O’Hara, though the film itself received mixed reviews. Despite this, Cavill maintains a successful and diverse acting career, notably portraying Superman for DC and Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher.
