"Guide to Farming Sharp Fang in Monster Hunter Wilds"

Apr 09,2025 Author: Benjamin

In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, securing Sharp Fangs can be a challenging yet rewarding endeavor, crucial for crafting beginner-tier gear like Chatacabra and Talioth armor. These valuable resources can be found early in the game, specifically in the Windward Plains at the onset of your journey. To streamline your hunt for Sharp Fangs, consider undertaking optional quests such as "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding," which will lead you to the Windward Plains with a generous 50-minute time limit. Before setting out, it's wise to cook and eat a meal to boost your performance.

Upon reaching the Windward Plains, head east to Area 8, the largest area on the map, teeming with various smaller monsters. While multiple creatures here can drop Sharp Fangs, your primary target should be the Gaijos.

Gaijos

Gaijos, resembling small leviathan monsters with a crocodile-like body and a unique snout, are typically found near or in riverbeds, often alone. You can locate them by scanning the purple diamonds on the interactive map near water sources. Approach a Gaijos location, swiftly dispatch the creature with your equipped weapon, and carve its carcass to obtain 1 x Sharp Fang. Gaijos are a guaranteed source of Sharp Fangs, making them a priority target. With approximately four to five Gaijos available in the Windward Plains upon entering, you can repeatedly undertake the optional quests to farm more Sharp Fangs as needed.

Talioth

Another potential source of Sharp Fangs, though not guaranteed, is the Talioth. These bipedal creatures roam in small packs in Area 8 and occasionally Area 13. While they are slightly tougher than Gaijos, they can still be managed with starter weapons. Carving Talioth carcasses may yield other items like Talioth Scales, but there's also a chance to obtain Sharp Fangs. Additionally, hunting Talioths can help you complete the "The Desert is Demanding" quest, which requires you to kill 8 Talioths.

This guide should equip you with the knowledge to efficiently farm Sharp Fangs in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and strategies, explore our other guides, such as how to master the Great Sword, including all its moves and combos.
