If you're feeling anxious about the potential delays of Grand Theft Auto VI, take a moment to breathe easy. The most eagerly anticipated game in gaming history is still slated for a fall release this year. This was confirmed by Take-Two Interactive during their recent financial presentation. In addition to this exciting news, the company also announced that Borderlands 4 will be hitting the shelves this year, although specific release dates for the latter have not yet been disclosed.
Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, emphasized that despite the announced fall release for GTA VI, Rockstar Games is adopting a meticulous approach to development. This careful strategy mirrors the development timelines of their past successes like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, which also required additional time to perfect.

Zelnick further stated that precise release dates will be shared once the company believes it's the right time, but a fall 2025 launch for GTA VI remains on the cards, despite swirling rumors suggesting a possible delay to 2026.
Take-Two is optimistic about 2025, projecting it to be one of the most lucrative years in the company's history, with expectations of generating over $1 billion from GTA 6 preorders alone. This ambitious target underscores the high stakes and immense anticipation surrounding this monumental project.
