GTA 6 May Eventually Come to PC
The future of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) on PC remains unconfirmed, yet there are strong indications from Take-Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, that a PC release might be on the horizon. During a recent interview with IGN on February 10, 2025, Zelnick discussed the platform strategy for their upcoming titles, including Civilization 7, which will launch simultaneously on console and PC. However, he noted that Rockstar Games typically rolls out their major titles on select platforms initially before expanding to others.

Historically, this pattern has been evident with previous Rockstar releases. GTA 5 first hit the shelves for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013, followed by PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2014, and finally on PC in April 2015. Similarly, Red Dead Redemption 2 debuted on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2018, with a PC version released in November 2019. These precedents suggest that while a PC version of GTA 6 isn't guaranteed at launch, it's certainly a possibility down the line.
Although no official confirmation has been given for GTA 6 on PC, Zelnick's comments imply a keen interest in bringing the game to the platform eventually. Fans had hoped for a simultaneous release across all platforms, but it seems they might have to wait a bit longer for the PC version.
Take-Two Confident in GTA 6's Multiplatform Success

Zelnick highlighted the growing significance of the PC market, stating that a PC version of a multiplatform game can account for up to 40% of its total sales. He emphasized the trend of PCs becoming an increasingly vital part of what was traditionally a console-dominated market.
Despite declining console sales for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Zelnick remains optimistic about GTA 6's potential to boost these figures. He believes that major game releases can significantly drive console sales, predicting a meaningful uptick in 2025 due to a robust release schedule not just from Take-Two but from other developers as well.
GTA 6 is slated for a Fall 2025 release, though a specific date hasn't been announced. Keep an eye on our Grand Theft Auto 6 page for the latest updates and announcements.
More Take-Two and Rockstar Games Possibly Releasing on Switch 2

During the Take-Two Interactive Q3 Fiscal Conference Call on February 6, 2025, Zelnick expressed enthusiasm about bringing their titles to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. He acknowledged their long-standing partnership with Nintendo and noted the evolving demographics of Switch users, which now span all age groups.
With Civilization 7 already confirmed for the Switch, Zelnick hinted at further support for the platform. "While we have nothing specific to report, we actually would fully expect to support Switch," he stated, indicating a broader strategy to leverage the console's expanded audience.
