If you're in the market for a budget-friendly Blackwell GPU tailored for 1080p gaming, look no further than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti. Just be sure to go for the 16GB variant, as the 8GB version falls short in more demanding titles. Currently, Amazon and Walmart are offering the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB starting at $489.99—a bit above the $429.99 MSRP, but still a reasonable markup compared to pricier models in the RTX 50 series.

The RTX 5060 Ti is an ideal choice for smooth 1080p performance, delivering roughly 20% better performance than the previous-gen RTX 4060 Ti and about 40% faster than the RTX 3060 Ti. With DLSS 4 support, the gap widens even further in compatible games.
While the RTX 5070 starts at $609.99, that extra $120–$130 may not be worth it if you're sticking to 1080p unless chasing ultra-high frame rates. That said, always opt for the 16GB VRAM model. The 8GB variants may seem cheaper, but they bottleneck performance significantly in modern titles and aren’t future-proof for higher resolutions like 1440p.
"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is a solid performer for 1080p gaming—even when stacked up against its last-generation sibling. There are very few games it can't handle with maxed-out settings, and even in heavier titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, simply dialing back ray tracing gives a noticeable boost. However, there's one big caveat: the 8GB version of this card. While the 16GB model is easy to recommend—especially if you’re upgrading from anything older than the RTX 3060 Ti—the 8GB variant will struggle as game demands increase. It's unfortunate both share the same name, as it adds unnecessary confusion when shopping for a capable 1080p GPU."

If you're aiming for 1440p or higher, consider stepping up to the RTX 5070. This model outperforms the already excellent RTX 4070 Super, especially in DLSS 4-enabled titles. While raw generational gains might be modest, driver improvements and future optimizations make it a smarter long-term investment.
Amazon currently offers the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Windforce OC with free shipping and includes a voucher for the upcoming Doom: The Dark Ages.
