Freedom Wars Remastered: How to Make Strong Weapons

Quick Links

Freedom Wars Remastered plunges players into a dystopian future where they battle monstrous Abductors as Sinners. To bolster their combat capabilities, players can upgrade weapons and accessories, enhancing base stats and adding beneficial modules. This process is accessible early in the game, eliminating reliance on mission rewards. This guide details weapon and accessory upgrades in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

Weapon upgrades become available after reaching Level 002 Code Clearance in the main storyline. CODE 2 Sinners then access the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. The Weapon Development Facility allows comprehensive weapon management. Upgrading requires resources and Entitlement Points, costs reduced by employing a Citizen with Facility Manager Aptitude. While seemingly complex, the process is intuitive in practice.

A pre-upgrade screen displays stat changes. The facility also enables Element addition and Module/Slot experimentation. Higher Grade weapon upgrades necessitate permits purchased from the Claim Entitlement tab in the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

Early missions yield limited high-Grade weapons. Zakka in The Warren offers Grade 1 items, making upgrading crucial. A CODE 3 Exam requires higher Grade Development Facility Permits, enabling focused weapon upgrades. Low-Grade weapons from missions can be donated for sentence reduction and additional Entitlement Points.

The first Weapon Development Facility upgrade unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements tied to the upgrade system. The substantial damage difference between Grades incentivizes gear improvement.

The Ability Development Facility, accessible within Facility Management, unlocks later.
