EA Play subscribers should be aware that two games are set to depart from the service in February 2025. EA Play, EA's subscription service, provides members with access to free game trials, full games, and a range of other perks. Available both as a standalone subscription and bundled with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, EA Play offers a comprehensive library of titles, blending older classics with the latest releases.
One of the key advantages of an EA Play subscription is the extensive selection of games from EA's catalog. However, similar to other subscription services, games are periodically removed from EA Play's lineup. Unfortunately, February 2025 marks the exit of at least two such titles.
EA has announced that Madden NFL 23 will be removed from EA Play on February 15, followed by F1 22 on February 28. It's important to note that the online multiplayer features of these games are not being shut down at this time; they are only being taken off the EA Play service. Nonetheless, the eventual shutdown of their online components is expected in the future. Therefore, EA Play subscribers should make the most of Madden NFL 23 and F1 22 while they still have access.
The removal of Madden NFL 23 and F1 22 from EA Play isn't the only disappointing news for EA fans in February 2025. It has also been confirmed that the online services for UFC 3 will cease on February 17. While it remains unclear whether UFC 3 will still be available on EA Play, the loss of its online features will significantly impact the game's appeal. Consequently, EA Play subscribers might want to prioritize playing UFC 3 before this date.
Although the departure of these EA titles from the EA Play lineup is undoubtedly disappointing, there is some consolation. Newer entries in these franchises, such as Madden NFL 24, F1 23, and UFC 4, will remain accessible through EA Play after February. Additionally, UFC 5 is set to join the service on January 14. While it's always a letdown when games are removed from subscription services, the availability of updated versions in these series should help ease the impact.
