Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has been unexpectedly rated for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, sparking excitement and speculation well before any official confirmation from the developers. This fighting game, deeply rooted in Akira Toriyama's beloved Dragon Ball universe, was inadvertently revealed to be coming to the new console through a now-deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation. The tweet, which was caught by eagle-eyed fans on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, stated:
"Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices," and confirmed that it had received a 12+ rating.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero builds upon the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series, elevating it to new heights with an impressive roster of characters. Each fighter brings unique abilities, transformations, and techniques to the table, promising a rich and varied combat experience. In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded it a 7/10, praising its nostalgic charm: "Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one."
As anticipation builds, Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders opened on April 24, maintaining a price point of $449.99. The response was overwhelming, as detailed in our coverage. On the same day, Nintendo issued a warning to U.S. customers who pre-ordered through the My Nintendo Store, stating that due to exceptionally high demand, release date delivery could not be guaranteed.
