After Yasuke hears rumors of "worse men" from his past being active in Japan, the Yasuke’s Past quests will require players to complete the Templar Hunt Objective Board. Here’s how and where to find every Templar target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, starting with Kimura Kei.
Your first lead on Kimura Kei’s location will come from a ronin contact in Kii. Head to the central Nakahechi Route at the inn in Takahara Village. If you're having trouble finding him, consider using Scouts to pinpoint his exact location. Look for the building marked with green flags next to a cherry blossom tree. Inside, you’ll find a ronin dressed in Oda Clan attire. Engage in conversation with him, and he will direct you to a recruiter named Kumabe Ujiie.
Kumabe Ujiie can be found in northern Kii, specifically at a cemetery in Koyasan, northeast of the Kongobuji Temple. He'll be accompanied by an escort of ronin, but don't engage them. Approach Kumabe Ujiie and choose the dialogue option “I seek guidance.” Follow him, and he will eventually lead you to Kimura Kei’s location.
Kimura Kei’s Training Grounds are located in the southwest portion of Kii, just north of the shore, roughly halfway between Sazae Oni Shores and Nakahechi Route. Upon arrival, follow the other students to reach Kimura Kei. He will recognize Yasuke and command his students to attack.
Prepare for a challenging encounter as you’ll be surrounded by attacking ronin. Even after defeating them, more will continue to assault you on your path to Kimura Kei. Equip your highest level armor and weapons to withstand the onslaught. Exploit the environment by using the exploding red barrels scattered along the path; shoot them with your bow or teppo to take out groups of enemies efficiently.
The encounter with Kimura Kei triggers a boss fight, ruling out stealth assassination. Equip armor with engravings that enhance your ability to parry unblockable attacks, as Kimura Kei uses them frequently. The fight has multiple phases:
Upon defeating Kimura Kei, you'll receive 3,000 XP, some Mon, and the Templar-themed Destroyer Samurai Armor and Helmet. The armor reduces the impact from enemy attacks, while the helmet boosts Yasuke's damage by 10% for every 10% of health missing.
After defeating the Shinbakufu, the Silver Queen, who aids the Portuguese in pillaging Tamba, appears on the Templar Board. Similar to Kimura Kei, you must interact with several contacts to reach her. Start with the spy.
The spy you need to find is located in Southeast Tamba, in the Silver Lands. Enter the investigation area and locate the spy sitting on a rug under a small structure next to a wooden cart and crates. Engage in conversation, and he will reveal the Silver Queen’s location.
Find the Silver Queen in the town of Tada, just Northeast of the Tada Kakurega. She will be conversing with Portuguese soldiers. Approach her and follow her to her house for tea. However, you'll wake up in Tada Silver Mine after being drugged.
Upon waking in a locked room within Tada Silver Mine, sprint into the door to break it open. After dealing with the guards, choose between fighting or sneaking out. Sneaking is the more efficient option. Head Southwest, eliminate any enemies in your path, and escape the mine.
The Silver Queen requires Yasuke to help rescue her brother, Akechi Mitsuyoshi, in exchange for information on Yasuke’s true target. After escaping Tada Silver Mine, head north toward Kameyama Castle. If you need supplies, visit the Kakurega just north of Senneji Temple in Kameyama.
Activate Pathfinder and navigate through Kameyama Castle, eliminating guards along the suggested path. Inside the living quarters, you'll find a servant who gives you a key to the castle’s Tenshu.
Use the key to enter the castle’s Tenshu and find Akechi Mitsuyoshi. Follow him as he escapes, using your bow or teppo to take out distant threats. After his escape, return to the castle and confront Baltazar to retrieve Akechi Mitsuyoshi’s Katana. Defeat Baltazar’s surrounding soldiers first, then focus on him, using abilities and posture attacks to break his guard and deal significant damage.
Once you’ve defeated Baltazar and retrieved the Katana, head north to Atago Shrine. Speak with Akechi Mitsuyoshi and follow him to the Shrine to receive the location of your next target.
Yasuke’s ultimate target, Nuno Caro, is preparing to leave Japan. He is located in Western Tamba at Takeda Castle, high atop a mountain at the end of a winding road. Use Pathfinder to find the most direct route.
Takeda Castle is heavily guarded with alarm bells that can alert enemies. Since stealth is less viable for Yasuke, disable these bells with your bow or teppo. As you ascend, you’ll reach a set of double doors leading to Nuno Caro.
Fight your way through Nuno Caro’s men to reach him at the castle's summit, triggering a boss fight. Nuno Caro uses a sword and pistol, executing a combo of up to four sword swipes, which you can block or parry. Dodge when his pistol glows red to avoid its shot. Employ abilities to deal high damage and exploit vulnerabilities, repeating this cycle until Nuno Caro is defeated. Completing this fight concludes the Templar Hunt Objective Board.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available from March 20th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
