Big changes are sweeping through Marvel Snap this year, and they're as monumental as replacing the Avengers themselves. The game is embracing its darker side with a new season inspired by the infamous Dark Reign period from Marvel comics. This storyline, which followed the iconic Civil War arc, features the notorious Norman Osborn taking control of S.H.I.E.L.D., renaming it H.A.M.M.E.R., and assembling a villainous version of the Avengers.
In this thrilling season, players can add Norman Osborn, now donning the Iron Patriot armor, to their decks. Joining him are his loyal second-in-command, Victoria Hand (available starting Jan 7th), the deadly Bullseye (Jan 21st), the cunning Moonstone (Jan 14th), and the formidable Ares (Jan 28th), whose power you'll want to keep intact, especially near the Sentry. These characters will be playable in a new location, Asgard Besieged, where Thor's home faces an assault from Midgard's forces.
For fans of the comics, the return of these characters is a treat, while new players will appreciate the diverse powers they bring to the game. Victoria Hand, for instance, boosts the power of cards created in your hand by 2, and Norman Osborn, when played, receives a random 4, 5, or 6-cost card. If you're winning in his location by the next turn, that card's cost drops by 4, enabling a strategic advantage.
The season also introduces a new card for Daken, who masquerades as his father, Wolverine, along with various cosmetics to flaunt your allegiance to the darker side. And don't miss the debut of Galacta, a fan-favorite from Marvel Rivals, who adds her unique flair to this season's lineup.
