In the most recent financial report from Thunderful Group, which has experienced multiple rounds of layoffs, a significant update on the cyberpunk platformer Replaced has come to light. The report indicates that gamers will now have to wait until 2026 to experience the game, marking yet another delay in its release schedule.
Originally, Replaced was slated for a 2022 launch, but this was postponed to 2023, and then to 2024. The developers at Sad Cat Studios had previously announced a delay to 2025, describing the development process as a "unique challenge." Despite these setbacks, the studio remains dedicated to delivering a top-quality product, motivated by the game's high profile and the anticipation of its fanbase.
Replaced was first unveiled to the public in 2021 during Microsoft's presentation at the now-discontinued E3 event. Since then, Sad Cat Studios has kept the community engaged by sharing periodic updates, including combat footage and a mini-game showcased this summer. However, the studio has not yet provided an official statement regarding the latest delay to 2026.
