In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, the decision to confront either Wakasa or Otama during the "The Tea Ceremony" mission significantly impacts the rest of your campaign. While both characters raise suspicions, there's a clear choice that simplifies the quest and enhances your gameplay experience.
After the tea ceremony, the best course of action is to confront Wakasa. She is the true Golden Teppo of the Onryo, and identifying her correctly leads to the most straightforward resolution. When you confront Wakasa, she invites Naoe to her home for a private discussion. Upon entering, you'll notice a kasa (straw hat) from the prologue hanging on her wall, confirming your choice. After some dialogue, Naoe can swiftly end the mission by taking Wakasa's Teppo from the wall and shooting her point-blank.

Choosing to confront Otama after the tea ceremony leads to a more complex scenario. Although you'll eventually kill Wakasa, mistakenly targeting Otama first results in additional challenges. After chasing down and killing Otama, you'll discover a letter revealing her corruption. However, this delay allows Wakasa to fortify herself in Osaka Castle with her soldiers.
To reach Wakasa, you must travel to Osaka Castle and either fight her soldiers or attempt to sneak past them. Even if you manage to get close enough for an assassination, you'll still need to engage in a one-on-one battle with Wakasa. While the boss fight isn't overly difficult, confronting Wakasa directly from the start avoids this extra hassle and provides a more satisfying cinematic kill, especially considering her role in Naoe's father's death.
Understanding the best decision after the Tea Ceremony mission is crucial. To prepare for the game's tougher challenges, learn how to gain XP and level up quickly in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*. Additionally, discover how to earn more Knowledge Points to unlock new skills for Naoe and Yasuke.
*Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.*
