*MLB The Show 25* has arrived, bringing with it an exciting new Road to the Show mode where players can live out their dreams of becoming a major league player. One of the first big decisions you'll face in this mode is whether to go to college or go pro straight out of high school. Let's dive into the details to help you make the best choice for your virtual baseball career.
In *MLB The Show 25*, you start as a high school player with scouts from top colleges and major league teams eyeing your talent. As you gear up for a state title run, scouts will be watching your every move, and between games, you'll get insights into your future options. Your performance in high school games and the MLB Combine will significantly impact your draft stock and the interest from colleges.
After the MLB Combine, you'll commit to a school, and the draft will take place. Even if you're leaning towards college, a team will still draft you. At this point, *MLB The Show 25* presents you with clear choices. Here's what The Escapist received after being drafted:
The decision ultimately boils down to personal preference. If you've spent countless seasons grinding through the minor leagues in past games, opting for college might offer a refreshing change. The allure of being the #1 overall pick and entering the pros as a more developed player can be incredibly rewarding. However, if you relish the challenge of climbing from the bottom to the top, going pro right away might be more your style.
The Escapist chose to attend college, drawn by the chance to be the #1 overall pick and the promise of a unique experience. Plus, the game fast-forwards to your third year during a championship run, so you won't spend too much time away from professional baseball. This path allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds.
So, whether you should go to college or go pro in *MLB The Show 25* Road to the Show depends on what kind of journey you want to embark on. For more tips, check out the best pitching settings for the new sports game.
*MLB The Show 25 is now in Early Access on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.*
