Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG developed by the French studio Sandfall Interactive. It incorporates real-time elements into its battle system and is set in a dark fantasy world. In this world, a powerful being known as the Paintress awakens annually to paint a number on her monolith, causing everyone of that age to vanish. As the game begins, the Paintress is about to wake and paint the number 33. You play as Expedition 33, a group of 33-year-olds determined to stop her.
The game's combat system is a highlight, blending traditional turn-based mechanics with real-time actions such as dodging, parrying, and countering. Players can also chain combos through rhythmic button presses and use a free-aim system to target enemy weak points. For more details, check out our Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 preview.
