This six-issue series is part of DC's ongoing All In initiative. The intriguing pairing of Cheetah and Cheshire may seem unconventional at first glance, but it resonates deeply with Rucka and Scott's past works at DC. Cheetah played a pivotal role in Rucka's two runs on Wonder Woman, while Cheshire was a key figure in Scott's earlier collaboration with writer Gail Simone on the Secret Six series.
Here's the official description from DC:
Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League follows the titular characters as they meticulously plan and execute a daring heist, targeting the most secure facility in the DC Universe. Their goal is to pull off the heist and escape unscathed. To achieve the impossible, Cheetah and Cheshire must assemble a top-tier crew capable of outsmarting not only the odds but also the Justice League themselves. Their mission is to acquire one of the most dangerous devices in the DCU, all while navigating the treacherous waters of betrayal and self-interest.
Standing between them and their audacious plan are a few significant hurdles: a highly advanced orbital platform, a state-of-the-art AI-driven security system, and, of course, the most intelligent and powerful heroes in the DCU.
In a statement, Rucka shared his excitement about the project: "I won’t bury the lede. This is a crew of villains, or at least nominal bad guys. Not one of them has access to—let alone would be welcomed aboard—the Justice League Watchtower. We’re not making this easy on them. But for Cheetah especially, this is an all-or-nothing play—she needs to do this job, and she’s not going to let anything, or anyone, keep her from getting what she’s after."
Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League #1 is scheduled for release on August 6, 2025.
In other comic book news, Marvel's new Thunderbolts series is being rebranded as The New Avengers, reflecting changes seen in the MCU.
