Lenovo Legion Go S Powered by Valve’s SteamOS

Lenovo also made waves at CES 2025 with the introduction of the Lenovo Legion Go S, powered by Valve's SteamOS. In their January 7, 2025 press release, Lenovo proudly stated that this device is the "world’s first officially licensed handheld powered by SteamOS," the same operating system that drives the Steam Deck.
The Lenovo Legion Go S boasts an 8-inch screen with VRR1 support, a chassis equipped with fused TrueStrike controllers featuring adjustable trigger switches and hall-effect joysticks. It also supports cloud saves for seamless transitions between PC and handheld gaming, as well as remote Play for streaming games from a PC to the device.
With SteamOS, users gain access to the full Steam ecosystem, including their Steam Library, Steam Cloud, Steam Chat, Steam Game Recording, and more. Furthermore, the device allows for easy management of all game, driver, and hardware updates through SteamOS’ built-in system updates.

The Lenovo Legion Go S will be available in May 2025, priced at $499.99 USD. A Windows-based version of the Lenovo Legion Go S will launch earlier in January 2025, starting at $729.99 USD.
In related news, Valve announced their efforts to extend SteamOS to other handheld devices. "We will be shipping a beta of SteamOS, which should improve the experience on other handhelds, allowing users to download and test it themselves."
As the pioneering model, the Lenovo Legion Go S is set to demonstrate the potential of SteamOS in enhancing the handheld gaming experience, bringing Steam’s vast gaming library to a wider audience.
