Get ready for an enhanced gaming experience with the upcoming release of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. Set to launch alongside the new console on June 5, this remastered version of the beloved 2012 Nintendo 3DS JRPG brings the game into the HD era. With stunning new graphics, a refreshed user interface, and the added convenience of fast-forwarding through sections, this remaster promises to deliver an unparalleled adventure. Preorders are now open, and you can secure your copy at various retailers (check it out at Target).
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster
Launching on June 5, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster is priced at $39.99. You can find it at Best Buy, GameStop, and soon at Target and Walmart. The price point is surprisingly affordable, especially considering the high-quality enhancements. However, it's important to note that the physical version you purchase is a "game-key card," which requires a bit more explanation.
Note: This is a Game-Key Card
Some Nintendo Switch 2 games come in two forms: full game data on a card, or a game-key card. Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster falls into the latter category. The game-key card looks similar to a standard Switch 2 cartridge but doesn't contain the actual game data. Instead, you'll need to insert the card into your Switch 2 and download the 11GB game from the eShop. While this means a bit of extra effort, you can still lend the physical card to friends or resell it as you would with a traditional cartridge.
What is Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster?
Originally released on the 3DS, Bravely Default is a classic JRPG that harks back to the golden age of turn-based combat and epic quests to find four crystals. Its standout feature is the innovative combat system, which allows players to save up turns for multiple actions. Coupled with a comprehensive job system, players can assign new abilities to each party member, deepening the gameplay experience.
The HD remaster retains all these beloved elements and introduces new features. Players can now fast-forward through both battles and cut scenes, enhancing the overall pace of the game. You can still adjust encounter rates to suit your preferred play style, and the game includes an online mode along with new minigames, adding even more depth and variety to your journey.
