Launch day for a new game like *MLB The Show 25* is an exciting time, but it can also bring its fair share of challenges. One such issue currently affecting players is the "Base hit to right field" bug. Here's a detailed guide on what this bug entails and how to address it.
Even before *MLB The Show 25*'s official launch, players reported a peculiar issue during gameplay. When at bat, regardless of where the ball actually lands, the game's commentator, Boog Sciambi, consistently announces, "Swing and a ground ball. Base hit to right field." This miscommunication can be confusing, especially if the ball lands in left field or even goes out of the park.
This bug disrupts the immersive experience that San Diego Studio aims to deliver, as the commentary should accurately reflect the action on the field. It can lead to strategic misjudgments, such as sending a runner home under the false assumption that the ball is safely out of reach. Fortunately, there are steps players can take to mitigate this issue.

The most straightforward way to bypass the "Base hit to right field" bug is to mute the commentators. Navigate to the game's settings and slide the "Commentary Volume" down to zero. While this prevents Boog Sciambi from making the incorrect call, it also means you'll miss out on other auditory cues that enhance the game's atmosphere and strategic depth. Hopefully, this workaround will only be temporary, and San Diego Studio will soon provide a patch to fix the issue.
As of now, San Diego Studio has not officially addressed the bug, leaving players in the dark about a potential permanent solution. Given that it's *MLB The Show 25*'s launch week, it's understandable that the developers are focused on ensuring the game runs smoothly across all platforms. Patience is key as they work to resolve this and other launch-related issues.
That's how you can currently manage the "Base hit to right field" bug in *MLB The Show 25*. If you're curious about other aspects of the game, consider checking out whether you should choose to go to college or go pro in this year's Road to the Show mode.
*MLB The Show 25* is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
