During GDC 2025 in San Francisco, Ayaneo, a Chinese company renowned for its handheld gaming devices since its founding in 2020, unveiled its first foray into Android gaming with two new devices: the Ayaneo Gaming Pad and the Ayaneo Pocket S2. Initially recognized for its Windows-based handheld gaming PCs, Ayaneo has now broadened its horizons into the Android gaming market, showcasing impressive hardware advancements.
What Are the Two New Ayaneo Android Gaming Devices?
The Ayaneo Gaming Pad is an Android gaming tablet, while the Ayaneo Pocket S2 is a new handheld device. Both are powered by the cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 platform, positioning them as pioneers in utilizing this advanced hardware. This platform boasts significant enhancements in CPU and GPU performance compared to its predecessors.
The Ayaneo Gaming Pad features an 8.3-inch LCD screen with a crisp 1440p resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing and Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, ensuring top-tier gaming visuals. The tablet also offers Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, which promises faster and more stable online gaming experiences. Its design includes a sleek glass back and a robust CNC-machined metal frame, complemented by high-end cameras: a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP front-facing camera.
The Ayaneo Pocket S2, on the other hand, comes with a 6.3-inch 1440p display, perfect for handheld gaming. It introduces an upgraded Hall-effect joystick, linear triggers, and dual X-axis motors for enhanced haptic feedback. The device runs on Ayaneo's proprietary gaming software, AyaSpace and AyaHome, which provide robust game management and customization options. Like the Gaming Pad, the Pocket S2 leverages the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 platform to improve energy efficiency and performance, including support for hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
