Exciting news from Summer Game Fest: Mundfish has officially confirmed that Atomic Heart 2 is currently in production. Alongside this announcement, the studio revealed The CUBE - an innovative multiplayer RPG shooter expanding the Atomic Heart universe.
The freshly unveiled trailer gives us our first taste of this highly anticipated sequel, coming to both PC and consoles. Maintaining the series' signature style, it promises more action-packed FPS gameplay with RPG elements set in its distinctive retrofuturistic alternate reality. Players will once again navigate a world where humanity's dream utopia - powered by advanced robotics - has spiraled into chaos as machines turn against their creators.
This brand-new multiplayer experience shares the Atomic Heart universe but leaps forward in time to an intriguing new setting: a massive floating cube. This mysterious structure's sudden appearance triggers terrifying disturbances, thrusting players into its depths to uncover its secrets and prevent catastrophe.
The original Atomic Heart debuted in 2023 to critical acclaim, earning an 8/10 from IGN where we praised its "deeply ambitious atompunk vision" that successfully built upon games like BioShock. The title recently hit a remarkable milestone, surpassing 10 million players worldwide. With multiple DLCs already released and one more still coming, Mundfish continues expanding their compelling dystopian universe.
