For enthusiasts of automobile simulators, January 16, 2025, marks a historic day. Kunos Simulazioni Studios is set to launch Assetto Corsa EVO on Steam in early access, offering a thrilling experience for racing fans. At launch, players will have access to 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in early access, the developers promise already impressive physics, control, and realistic car behavior, setting a high bar for what's to come.
A standout feature of the game is the free-ride mode, allowing players to explore tracks at their own pace. An eagerly awaited major update is scheduled for the summer of 2025, which will introduce roads around the legendary Nürburgring track. This fully laser-scanned open world will span up to 1600 square kilometers and will be gradually expanded, offering an ever-growing playground for racing aficionados.
Assetto Corsa EVO boldly claims to be the premier car simulator, poised to challenge industry giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. It boasts photorealistic graphics and advanced physics to deliver an unparalleled driving experience. At its debut, the game is expected to feature 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with more content promised in future free upgrades. Each circuit will replicate real-world conditions, including rolling tires or wet pavement, and animated spectators will enhance the immersive atmosphere.
The developers have also refined the dynamics of the automobiles, including suspension damping and shock absorption, ensuring a true-to-life driving feel. The Driving Academy mode, available at Early Access, will challenge players to complete the aforementioned tracks within specific time limits. This single-player activity aims to earn players a license, granting them access to the game's most elite vehicles.
