Ubisoft has unveiled its comprehensive plans for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising a rich lineup of updates and additions that are sure to keep players engaged throughout 2025. In a concise yet informative four-and-a-half-minute roadmap update video released today, Ubisoft detailed an exciting schedule, particularly for May and June, aimed at delivering continuous free updates to keep the game fresh and exciting for fans.

The content rollout kicks off in early May with The Works of Luis Frois, the first in a series of free story add-ons. This update will be joined by a Codex update and several quality-of-life improvements, including significant enhancements to parkour and a revamped photo mode. Ubisoft emphasizes its commitment to incorporating community feedback into these updates, ensuring that Assassin’s Creed Shadows evolves in ways that players want.

"Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released," stated community developer Daniel St. Germain in the video. "Regular title updates are coming, each with impactful additions – and changes – based on your feedback and requests, with some bug fixes to continue refining the experience across all platforms."

June will see the release of the next free story drop, along with more challenging difficulty settings, enhanced gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and the ability to choose whether to wear headgear during cutscenes. These updates are designed to enhance the gameplay experience based on player requests, with further additions such as new game+ mode, more story content, special collaborations, and other features planned before the year ends.

The highlight of the post-launch roadmap is the first major DLC expansion, Claws of Awaji, slated for release later in 2025. This expansion will introduce new content, including the Bo staff weapon and a new region for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke to explore, offering a 10-hour journey. While pricing details remain undisclosed, Claws of Awaji will be available for free to those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its launch last month.

Play*Assassin’s Creed Shadows* launched on March 20 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, bringing the iconic stealth series to the setting of Feudal Japan.
