The excitement around Assassin’s Creed Shadows continues to grow, especially with the recent unveiling of its year 1 post-launch update roadmap. Ubisoft has shared plans to enrich the gaming experience with a series of updates, including new story drops and an upcoming DLC expansion. Here’s a closer look at what players can expect in the coming months.
Year 1 Post-Launch Roadmap
Since its release over a month ago, Assassin’s Creed Shadows (AC Shadows) has captivated players, and Ubisoft is committed to enhancing the game with exciting updates. On May 1, Ubisoft took to Twitter (X) to announce their year 1 post-launch roadmap, promising a variety of new story and gameplay content.
One of the highlights is the introduction of new Story Drops. These are free content additions that will roll out periodically, offering players new quests, abilities, allies, and world activities. Ubisoft has stated, "These new free quests will introduce new player abilities, new allies, new world activities, and provide deeper looks and backstories for some of your favorite characters, each new piece of content expanding on the main game." This means fans can look forward to a richer narrative and more immersive gameplay without additional costs.

In addition to the Story Drops, Ubisoft is gearing up for the release of their first expansion, The Claws of Awaji, set to launch later this year. This expansion will take players to the new region of Awaji Island, available to explore post-epilogue of the base game. Players can anticipate encountering new enemies, unlocking new abilities for both protagonists, and wielding an exclusive new weapon for Naoe.

The Claws of Awaji expansion is included for free with pre-orders of AC Shadows, but will also be available for purchase for those who missed out on pre-ordering. For more detailed information on AC Shadows' DLCs and the roadmap, be sure to check out our comprehensive article below!
