Studio Wildcard has recently shared an updated content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, outlining nearly two years of planned updates for this remastered version of the popular survival crafting game, ARK: Survival Evolved. Initially released in early access in late November 2023, ARK: Survival Ascended has been receiving regular content updates since its launch.
On January 11, Studio Wildcard, based in Redmond, Washington, released its roadmap extending until late 2026. The first update on the agenda is a technical patch that will upgrade ARK: Survival Ascended to Unreal Engine 5.5. This upgrade is expected to bring significant performance enhancements. Additionally, around the same time, the developer plans to reinstate support for Nvidia's frame generation, which had been removed in the latter half of 2024 due to engine issues.
ARK: Survival Ascended Content Roadmap for 2025–2026
Period | Content |
---|
March 2025 | ASA Unreal Engine 5.5 update. |
April 2025 | Free Ragnarok Ascended, Bison (Free Creature), and a Fantastic Tame. |
June 2025 | A new premium map (to be announced). |
August 2025 | Free Valguero Ascended with a community-voted free creature, and Fantastic Tame. |
April 2026 | Free Genesis Ascended Part 1 & Bob's True Tales Part 1. |

December 2026 | Free Fjordur Ascended with a community-voted free creature. |

The UE5 update will further Studio Wildcard's efforts to reorganize the game's data, allowing players to download ARK: Survival Ascended DLC packs individually. This selective map delivery system aims to reduce the game's overall install size. Following the engine update, new content will be introduced in April 2025, including a Fantastic Tame and a free Bison creature.
In June 2025, another map will be released as paid DLC. Studio Wildcard plans to reveal more details about this map in the early spring. In August 2025, another Fantastic Tame and a community-voted free creature will be added to the game.
Moving into 2026, Studio Wildcard will focus on remastering ARK: Survival Evolved's Genesis expansions. ARK: Survival Ascended will see the release of Genesis: Part 1 in April 2026, followed by Part 2 in August 2026. Both releases will coincide with parts of Bob's True Tales, previously announced as part of the game's season pass. A remastered version of the Fjordur map is scheduled for a free release in December 2026. Additionally, three more Fantastic Tames are planned to be introduced throughout 2026.
While the roadmap provides a broad overview, Studio Wildcard may have additional smaller updates planned for ARK: Survival Ascended over the next two years.
